I photograph architecture, craftsmanship, and the character of place.

Whether I'm documenting an adaptive reuse project, a historic landmark, an artisan at the workbench, or a handcrafted product, I'm interested in revealing what gives each subject its identity. My photographs are about more than appearance—they explore the relationship between light, materials, craftsmanship, and the people who shape the spaces and objects around us.

My foundation in photography began in the film era, where I learned that great photographs are built on observation, patience, composition, and light. While my tools have evolved, those principles remain unchanged. I work deliberately, creating as much of the finished photograph as possible in the camera and using light to reveal the honesty of the subject rather than overpower it.

Based in North Central West Virginia, I work throughout the Appalachian region with architects, preservation organizations, independent hotels, artisans, makers, and businesses that value authenticity, thoughtful design, and enduring craftsmanship. Whether photographing a newly completed building, a restored landmark, or an object shaped by years of use, my goal is the same: to create photographs that communicate a genuine sense of place and purpose.

I believe the strongest photographs do more than document. They invite us to slow down, look carefully, and experience the character, history, and design that give a place or object its lasting significance.
